Rose Quartz for Mother’s Day and Beyond
By Eliza Marie Somers
Just saying the words “Rose Quartz” brings a sense of calm and peace into your aura. It’s the ultimate crystal for love – and not just for attracting your soulmate. Rose Quartz helps bring loving energy to all your relationships, including your family, the Earth, the Divine, and first and foremost – love of self.
The pink crystal is a bridge between the lower chakras and the upper chakras, bringing them into harmony with the heart chakra.
The heart chakra is the strongest generator of Light energy in the body – even stronger than the brain, states Naisha Ahsian in "The Book of Stones," “The energy of Rose Quartz helps the bud of the heart unfold into a thousand-petaled lotus of Light,” she writes.
The pink crystal is the quintessential stone for our time as it dissolves the feeling of isolation and brings a sensation of oneness with All. It helps by releasing tension and stress, dissolving fear, anger and resentment to bring about a rebirth of love and faith in the Universe.
In “The Essential Guide to Crystals, Minerals and Stones,” Margaret Ann Lembo touts Rose Quartz for times of grief, especially a loss of love and loss of friendships. Part of the affirmation for Rose Quartz that she uses is: I am tolerant and accept the differences between my beliefs and those of others.
Judy Hall states in “Crystals to Empower You,” "Rose Quartz is the finest heart-healer, transmuting emotional conditioning that no longer suits you … to manifest a new pattern of loving. It is excellent for healing trauma and emotional dramas."
Physically it helps with vertigo while clearing fluids to release toxins, and placed on the thymus it is thought to help with coughs, soothing the bronchial and lungs, according to Melody in “Love is in The Earth.” AND as an elixir applied to the skin is believed to reduce wrinkles – well, sign me up!
Robert Simmons in “The Book of Stones” offers you the best reason to give the gift of Rose Quartz:
“When one gifts a lover, a friend, a stranger or a child with Rose Quartz, there is an unspoken appreciation that reverberates through the Universe, as one more boundary is softened or dissolved.”
As we continue to move through the Covid pandemic, think about giving your mom, a friend, or even a stranger, a Rose Quartz as the Earth sure could use a little more love during these tumultuous times.
