This workshop will be held at For Heaven’s Sake, Applewood (2680 Youngfield St, Lakewood). It will be held 2/26 from 4:00 to 5:30; the cost is $25. For payment, you can pay cash at the door (no checks please) or use Venmo @Gregory-Merritt-6, or with Zelle 408.202.4048. Regardless of payment option, please let me know if you plan to attend. I have two scholarships available; your cost is $10. If your budget is tight, let me know.
In this workshop, we will go on a Shamanic Journey. This is distinct from a guided meditation; I will drum while you take a spontaneous journey to receive guidance and healing. You will be transported to the spirit realm to meet your power animal or spirit guide, who will take you on your journey.
To empower our journey, we perform the ritual of the 6 directions to connect deeply with Spirit and one another; and we will drum. There will be a chakra cleansing during the opening ritual. Also, I will give a brief talk on what shamanism is and the role shaman’s play in their culture.
Shamanic drumming allows us to let go of our rational mind and surrender to our instinctual nature. It provides an experience of Oneness and creates a trance state that allows Great Spirit to speak to you directly or through your power animal or spirit guide.
I have 4 drums I can loan out. Please bring any extra drums you are willing to share. Also, bring a sacred object for the altar.
BIO:
Gregory is a retired Aerospace engineer and is now pursuing his soul’s passion to express his Light as a healer-teacher. He integrates his learning from many traditions – nature-based teachings such as Native American and pagan, Consciousness studies, Life Coaching, Landmark Education, and 12 years as a Religious Science practitioner. As a Spiritual Coach, he enjoys helping people get into action regarding their true heart’s desire. He will help bring clarity to your life so you can live in alignment with your purpose.
