Do you find yourself opening your eyes in the middle of the night? Your body decides to nudge you in the wee hours, and you’re having trouble going back to sleep. Almost every night you check the clock, only to find out that the clock reads the same time as it did a few nights ago. You are waking up at the same time every day, and you have no idea why it happens.
Waking up at the same time each night reveals a lot about you and your health.
9:00 pm to 11:00 pm
Most people go to bed at these times. If you find yourself having trouble sleeping during this time, it is likely that you’re experiencing high levels of stress. Your thyroid may also be acting up, which causes the release of adrenaline. This triggers the body’s fight and flight response. Relaxation exercises, yoga, meditation or positive mantras may help you relax and sleep better.
11:00 pm to 1:00 am
Waking up during this time could be an indication that you have issues with your gallbladder. The main function of the gallbladder is to breakdown all the fats that you’ve consumed throughout the day. But if you find yourself waking up between 11:00 pm to 1:00 am, we highly recommend that you limit consumption of fatty foods.
Feelings of resentment or judgment towards yourself or others are also a possible reason why you’re waking up at this time of the night. Learning to forgive and letting go of the past is a great way to address this issue.
1:00 am to 3:00 am
During this time, the liver is being refreshed. It breaks down fats and produces energy. If you wake up every day between 1:00 am and 3:00 am, odds are your liver is working harder than usual. Our advice? Reduce alcohol consumption and stick to a healthy diet.
Rage, guilt and anger may also cause you to wake up between 1:00 am and 3:00 am. Find ways to release that anger so you can sleep better at night.
3:00 am to 5:00 am
This time is usually associated with the lungs. It’s the time when the lungs are attempting to heal and clear. If you find yourself waking up constantly at this time each night, you may need to go out from time to time to inhale fresh air. Also, consume healthier foods.
