The Gift of Reiki
Reiki (pronounced ray-key) is a unique and highly effective technique for balancing and energizing oneself and others, both physically and spiritually. Reiki works simultaneously on all levels, stimulating healing where it is needed most. Rather than simply easing surface symptoms, Reiki is highly effective at “getting to the root” and activating deep healing. The method is both simple and direct in its amplification of KI or the Universal Life Force energy. Reiki requires no thought or belief system to activate it; it is a self-directed movement of powerful, yet gentle energy through one’s hands. 

A session averages an hour to an hour and a half. Clients remain fully clothed as the practitioner moves through a series of hands-on positions. Reiki can also be done on the auric (above the body) level. During the session, the client may experience intense warmth or tingling coming from the practitioner’s hands; others experience no sensation. There is often a feeling of being deeply nurtured, while physical and emotional stresses gently melt away, being replaced with an overall peace and sense of well-being.

Reiki I certification class includes instruction, hands-on bodywork, and the powerful Reiki attunements. Students are often drawn to study because of a physical condition or imbalance they may have, or because they want to help a family member or friend who’s in pain. Reiki has been found to lead to deep and lasting healing. Yet, the true gift of Reiki goes beyond a bodywork technique. As the energy moves through us, it clears worldly static, negativity, and toxins, helping to soften resistance and blockages, taking us closer to our most centered, aligned selves. When a student practices Reiki as often as possible, even daily, inner shifts occur from the consistent blending with the Universal Life Force. Reiki provides self-healing and self-growth. Students bring their outer life into harmony with the peaceful, empowering energy, transforming from the inside out!

Donna DeNomme practices and teaches the ancient healing art of Reiki – the Usui Method of Natural Healing. She has taught Reiki since 1990 and offered client sessions since 1987. Donna is also trained in many alternative and indigenous healing practices. She has served the For Heaven’s Sake community as a practitioner/teacher for 20 years.
